Dug into the rock between the desert and the Nile, this temple is a unique feat in the architecture of ancient Egypt. With Egyptologists let’s explore this 2 300 years old monument. 3D animations reveal the steps of the ancient construction of the rocky colossus of Ramses II.

THE JOURNEY OF THE OBELISK

Egypt, 1 300 B.C., Ramses II orders to build two giant obelisks at Amon temple (Luxor) in Thebes. The story begins at the Aswan granite career down the Nile river. We follow the "first life" of the stone to become a giant and golden monument. In 1828 Champollion asks the Pacha of Egypt to give to France the obelisks.

A 6 years expedition full of dangers succeed to bring an obelisk to Paris in 1836. Shoot in Egypt, Italy, U.K and France, the film presents original CGI/3D animations and fictions. Interviews with Historians and Egyptologists reveals some of the secrets of the Egyptian way to cut, sail and erect giant stones in front of the temples.

3 500 years ago, a great culture of the
Mediterranean sea mysteriously disappeared.
With advanced technology, an early alphabet
and new cities, the Minoans broke the borders
of History. From Cretan palaces to merchant
vessels how did the Minoans live? How did
they influence other cultures?
Our expedition follows the Cretan coasts, the
ancient sea roads and the unique island of
Thera (Santorini) the "prehistoric Pompei".


ARTEMIS : THE PHOENIX TEMPLE

In Turkey, on the banks of a missing port, lost a temple with a forest of columns was the ultimate quest for the english archeologist James T. Wood.

Artemis temple was part of the seven wonders of the world's list since ancient time. But several desasters occured to destroy the versions of the temples. After a (legendary ?) criminal fire, the temple of Cresus has to be replaced by one of the biggest greek temple ever made.

objects that guides us in drama scenes using
reenactment.

Dead in 1380, Charles V is one of the greatest
architects of the Middle Age. From Louvre
castle to Vincennes, we explore a lost Paris.
Reconstructed monuments (Bastille, walls,
port, palaces,...) and narrow streets take us on
an amazing journey into the colorful medieval
Paris. Luxurious royal court contrasts with the
dark side of the city full of dangers (riots,
crimes) and disasters (flood, fire, pest,...).


RICH HOURS OF MIDDLE AGES

Rich Hours of the Duke of Berry presents a
collection of realistic paints of daily life around
lost castles of French provinces.
We explore the amazing seasonal landscapes

Archeology and art help us to rebuild the true
vision behind the pages in wonderful CGI.


WE BUILT NOTRE DAME

1160. The Bishop of Paris decides to build a
gothic cathedral in the small island of Paris:
Notre Dame.
The building of Notre Dame is a story of
elevation: from the underground crypt to the
sky in the top of the towers, we discover how
the workers and artist challenged to build the
high gothic church. From the deep mines to
fine statues the stones tell their own stories
and reveal extraordinary secrets.


THE VIKING SIEGE OF PARIS

November 885. The Vikings are attacking
Paris in an epic siege.
Based on a true story by the monk Abbon of
Saint Germain and a fictional scandinavian
saga, the film innovates by presenting the war
from two sides: the Franks and the Vikings.
From a scandinavian village to the fortified
walls of Paris we discover the daily life of a
Viking army involved in on the most
spectacular siege of early Middle Ages.

In this adventure across the period of Eocene we explore a strange earth covered with tropical forests and warm oceans. Museums open their laboratories and collections to examine fossils that come back to life with CGI.

The collections of museums (Paris, London or Washington), reveal a period shared by several continents and discovered in Paris.
From the late Cretaceous to early Oligocene, the film takes us through science and technology, in an unknown period of Earth history : the Eocene.

BRIDGES OF PARIS : CHALLENGES OVER THE SEINE

From roman period to new green projects, bridges make history of cities. The series explores centuries of bridges building across rivers and seas.
